First-
yea you-tube is mainstream but.... why not put stuff up there also?
Yikes! IT IS FREE!
I would still keep your own system online also, but by using 'their' system
you have exposed people to your material that may never have found you.....

The reason I know about you guys is we are a communications museum that
studies communication and you are part of that.... but If I was 'Joe
businessman' and his family I would be in using you tube and would not get to see
anything you do because you are not in my "presented to me" videosphere!

Second-

You need some capitalism ..... it is really not as bad when used in
moderation as you might think.... and
remember the WALL came down.... the other system just really does not work
in the long term because it is not a pure application of it nor will humans
allow a pure application of it.... so... lets go out and make some money...
make some movies... and do our best everyday to make things better overall.

I don't want to be youtube.
youtube is the way capitalism turns free ideias into products.
imho, indymedia do not pretend to be the most advanced cms site, but yes
make
smaller voices speak.

yes, and now linux do not run well anymore in my 486, and almost nobody
helped
cinelerra in about 10 years.
but in S/390, oh yes....

and what?
they are companies that wants money, that is the way capitalism take over
free
ideias into the 'system' (to make money).
