just wanted to:
1. throw in my solidarity for those who also boycott these commercial
sites and thanks to those working away on alternatives.
2. also to point out that one of the main disadvantages of the indymedia
network through the years has been that the hard-line political stances
have too often translated into hard-line political content (video or
otherwise) -- smashing and/or talking heads -- which with all due respect
as the majority of content, does not exactly help interest new people or
maintain people's ever shortening attention span. being more welcoming to
pieces that rely on art, comedy, music, etc. or more long term projects
that can only be completed with long term support, could go a long way and
is something these commercial platforms certainly overtake us at as well;
hopefully a new platform of our own will due some to change this.
