an a activist film festival

Global Assembly Line – film emergency...

since approx. 4 months we are trying to get a film which is advertised
by a so-called "media education" organisation who says they set out for
political eduvcation of the public. under their name they advertise the
film "the global assembly line" for general use (with specified
conditions, i.e. payment rates).

we want to show that film as part of a sub-programme of the "globale",
the Berlin activist film-festival for critical perspectives on
globalization. the film would be shown in the context of other films and
activists documenting the array of "special economic zones" of different
sorts under the game rules of capitalist globalization, and discussiong
ways to organize trans-spatial solidarity (we will have women and union
activists from Sri Lanka, Tijuana/Mexiko, Istanbul/Turkey,
Almeria/Spain... among others).

that should be an ideal match. in spite of this we are now communicating
on all levels and lines with the "distributor" and never receive an
answer, as they point to the film maker, which they should represent (if
they react at all). the filmmaker is not findable anywhere on the net in
terms of contact data (she seems lost for the last 4 years). and at the
same time the distributor points to the filmmaker (for whatever reason),
they refuse to put us in contact with her.

... so some months came and went... now we have a set screening at next
friday (may, 11th, 10pm Berlin local time). but w have no film, which
otherwise should be available for educational purposes.

so, the quest/plea would be to you (or anyone) who could manage to
organize a viewing copy. would be very appreciated and help the
political-educational at _m_institution @_m_organisationanizational cause
of those afflicted by new economic regimes... and the globale
filmfestival, which is in cooperation with indymedia...

we already tried alternative routes (asking wherever it was screened;
trying some contacts at US university, etc.). but as it stands the
indymedia way would be our last hope  to resolve this...
