the proposal for the current video.indy can be read here

http://docs.indymedia.org/view/Global/IVDNIntroTranslations

this was written by PseudoPunk and me.

The main task was distribution of high quality video content so that
people can use it for local cinemas and public screenings.

I still get asked from people who do public screening when video.indy
will be back, because it was one of the very few sources for current
videos in good quality.

Not everyone is able to use emule and the easy access helps allot. We
need a fast http download server. people need the easy access.

ngvision had a very strong focus on videos from italy, and v2v is
limited to the ogg video format. Because of these limitations we saw
the need for a open publishing based video distribution.

anyway, i am really open for any new ideas about a new focus for
video.indy, but i would recommend that it includes these task for
videos in screening quality, people need this.
