Hi TJ,
Thanks for this! I think part of what's happened is there are (at least)
2 conversations going on about the future of video.indymedia.org.
One, the current site has upload disabled, and none of the current site
admins has responded to the hosting offers you mention. Occam, it would
be great if you could either A. get current video.indy back online by
following up with one of these offers, or B. if you don't have the time,
get the necessary access to someone who does.
Two, there is a conversation about the future of Indymedia CMSs in
general and video CMS in particular. So far from the conversation on
this list, I understand that we have rough agreement to both get our
current video.indy back online, while experimenting with Drupal and
Plone for a future video.indy.
We had come to agreement that we would set up test installs of these two
CMS customized for video. We're gonna play with these for a bit, then
decide which to go with for next gen video.indy.
Mark B set up a FilmForge (Drupal) sandbox: http://filmforge.indybay.mobi/
TJ, would you like to set up a Plumi (Plone) sandbox? http://plumi.net
Meanwhile, there is also an effort to create a list of all working video
feeds from IMCs, to use to create a custom Miro player (formerly
Democracy Player). Maybe anna is coordinating that?
