I think we are in a chicken and egg situation.
Maybe noone want to get money together for a project
which doesn't fufill what they need.
I do share your frustration at the abstract nature of
this project at the moment. I think that you are right
ng , rather than just concentrate on dream wish list
of a video indymedia site we need to get more
practical.
But - I do question the value of promoting and paying
for bandwidth for the site as it exists at the moment.
Personally I think we can do a LOT without getting
money together for bandwidth. For a start we could
form a functioning video indymedia editorial team, and
pull together a website based on videos that are
already on the net. There are plenty.
Then we could form a functioning tech team, a first
project that takes no bandwidth would be to create an
aggregation site that makes the presentation and
searching of videos already on the net. A group of 3
or more people would seem to be desirable for the
stability of the project.
We can also work on an upload system that uses
archive.org - this has always been a possibility for
free bandwidth but has never actually been done. How
hard would it be, I wonder, it just looks like
submitting metadata, and file via ftp.

so ng, while i share your frustration I don't think
that Money is really going to get solve all the issues
we have. In fact I would argue that currently, More
Money - Mo' Problems :)
