We had an indymedia uk meeting last weekend - in the
audio/ video group we decided that we would like to
try to break the audio and video elements of the UK
site away from the current MIR cms.

I'm up for helping Ekes are up for helping set up a
drupal sandbox for video.indymedia.org.uk - this would
add some functionality to what is currently in Film
forge, especially with importing media RSS feeds,
searching them, and moderating content.

I think we were going to ask Mark if we could set it
up on his box.

I'd be interested to know if people would be
interested in helping put up videos of content from
the UK newswire when we get this going. It would also
involve creating centre column features to highlight
'important' or high quality videos.

We could try to maintatin 10 or so feeds importing
information. Certainly there are a lot of videos being
generated from the visionontv at the moment.
We could use video from outside the UK if people
thought that made the experiment more interesting.

This process would help form a list of what tasks the
editorial team would have to take on. Maybe the
terminology "editorial team" is a bit problematic as
it suggests an inflexible, set group.

I guess people may be meaning different things when
they say editorial group - for me it's "an informal
and constantly mutating group making moderation
decisions and deciding on how to best promote the
content on the video indymedia site in an interesting
way" but that is a bit long to say each time.

That sounds good to me. We've also been working on
some additions to the UK editorial policy. I can
perhaps feed those in as well when they are mature.
