Hi
We've had some new people joining this group in the last week or so (Hello! :o)), which maybe makes
the project more viable. I sent a message round a while back asking who on this list wants to take
an active part in the project, and suggesting that we set up a face to face meeting... somewhere in
Wales. I think there were two replies: Marc and Mair. There is a small group of people (maybe five
or six) up here in North Wales, mainly in Wrexham, who I know for sure want to work on this. There
are a couple of people now in Aberystwyth who have recently joined the list and want to get
involved. Not sure what the situation is further South.
Marc suggested that we have two meetings, one in North Wales and one in South Wales. I don't think
that's a bad idea, but there's not much point having one in South Wales if there's no-one there. :o)
What do the Aber people think? Could you get to Wrexham or should we look for an in-between meeting
point perhaps? What about South Wales people? When are people available? Saturdays? Sundays?
Any suggestions for a definite date? We also need to invite other groups who may be interested in
the project - grassroots campaigns and others who are under-, un- or mis-represented in the
mainstream media - can we start a list of groups/campaigns to invite?
I think if we can get together and spend some time looking at what needs to be done, deciding how
we're going to achieve that, then we can get on with it, and the sooner we do that, the sooner we'll
have a place to put Welsh news on indymedia uk. It may be possible to organise some indymedia
training as part of this meeting.
Better go - think the dinner's burning!
Genny
