[Imc-wales] mock up of wales page again

Hi all

I've had some feedback about the mock-up of the Wales page and the 
masthead -  mostly off-list and all positive so far - but what do the 
rest of you think about it?  Eh? :o)  We'll need an extra button on the 
page to make a link between the English and Welsh versions of our site - 
haven't sorted that out yet, but I imagine it could go at the top of the 
left-hand column perhaps, sort of matching the publish button.  I think 
the text on/with this button should be in Welsh on the English page and 
vice versa.

My correspondence with Gwilym Morus re. the castle occupation picture is 
pasted below - thought I should check out that they're happy for us to 
use it in the masthead.

The next job will be to get our static pages sorted out in English and 
Welsh.  These are things like editorial guidelines, mission statement, 
publishing form (I take it we want a Welsh version of this), about us, 
help, support us, the list of links to go in left-hand column and so 
on..  We have two teams who are (in theory at least!) working on 
editorial guidelines and mission statement.  Any volunteers to do some 
work on the other stuff?  If someone can make a start, then we can post 
the drafts up for people to comment on, add to etc.  Look at other 
regions' sites to get an idea of what's needed - there are links under 
"Kollektives" from the Wales mock-up page:

Hi Gwilym

I have a feeling that you were one of the people who took part in the 
occupation of Beaumaris castle in 2003.

It's just that we're in the process of putting together an indymedia 
page for Wales within united kollectives (www.indymedia.org.uk) and I've 
been working on designs for a possible masthead and have used a picture 
from the occupation as part of a design.  Do you think this would be OK 
with the people involved?  Can't think why it wouldn't be, but always 
best to ask!

Here's a link to a mock-up of a possible site - this is the English 
version - which includes my draft masthead.  We haven't started work on 
the Welsh page yet, but the idea is to have pairs of corresponding 
English/Cymraeg pages - the Welsh home page would have all the 
headings/editorial guidelines/publishing page etc. in Welsh.  So the 
artwork would be the same for both.

Yes that's me in the middle there when I still had curtains.

We would be honoured for you to use the picture. I don't think anybody
would have a problem with it. Let me know if there's anything I can do to
