[Imc-wales] meeting

Hi

Ana - sorry you can't make the 3rd. I would like to go ahead with this date if possible, mainly
because the next couple of weeks after that aren't suitable for various reasons, which will delay
the whole thing again. In any case, this may just be a first meeting and we may well need more.
What do other people think?

My proposal wasn't for a full weekend - I have something on Sat morning in any case, so I was
thinking more about an afternoon meeting to give people time to travel, with people who wanted to
learn about admin-ing perhaps doing that in the evening at someone's house, assuming we have someone
from indymedia to help us with this.

If we need a social centre, then we may as well forget the whole thing! :o) Not much chance of that
happening here in the near future. But I'm sure we can offer beds/floorspace and food to people who
need/want to stay over. I'd like to think that we'll be so inundated with people wanting to come
along that we'll struggle to find space for them all, but I suspect this is an extremely unlikely
scenario.

Minuting the meeting shouldn't be a problem. To be inclusive... can we make decisions
provisionally, subject to no blocks being raised by other people on the list who can't physically
get to the meeting? Or something like that?

What are the crucial things that need to go on the agenda?

What I've thought of is:

-some background to indymedia/indymedia uk
-introduction to consensus decision making
-what we want our page/s to look like
-how we're going to do the techie bit to achieve this
-how we're going to reach out to other people to encourage them to get involved in the project and
post their news
-who's going to help with looking after the uk newswire?
-who's interested in feature writing?
-indy-radio/indy-video/indy-newsletter possibilities (ok, maybe this is looking a bit further ahead
but it won't hurt to think about it now)

It would be really useful to have at least one person from indymedia who can give some background
and who has admin status. Any ideas? Wietse from Nottingham said he would be interested in helping
us set up. I'll copy him this message and see what he thinks.

What do other people reckon?

Genny
