MINUTES OF WELLINGTON IMC MEETING HELD ON WEDNESDAY 12 APRIL
2006
at Fidel's Cafe, Cuba Street. Meeting commenced 7 pm.
Apologies: Kieran, Urs (for being held up at Oblong till
7.30 pm)
1. Film nights. Urs has the Tuhoe film with English overdub,
60 min long. Plans to show it first at 128, maybe on 30
April.
We have the Fallujah film to show as a full-length feature,
and the rest of Oceania 3 Newsreal. Kieran - look at booking
the Film Archive for a Friday some time in May?
Also let AIM national list know we have the Fallujah film
for lending out.
2. Money. We have $216.32, with money to come from the four
Film Archive screenings of McLibel. Kieran knows how much we
are owed - approx. several hundred $$.
3. Indymedia stall at Mayday celebrations (Monday 1 May).
Could be combined with the Freedom Shop stall - probably in
Manners Mall. We can display/sell leaflets, patches, badges,
back issues and Oceania newsreals. Volunteers needed for the
stall. Please email the list.
4. Recent suppressed information debate. We decided that we
need an agreed policy and procedures for future situations
like this. We could begin making proposals on the AIMC email
loop, and write a policy at the next AIM conference.
5. More AIM editors and tech help needed. Four editors have
resigned for various reasons lately, leaving five, plus one
non-tech editor. Jo from Christchurch has offered to become
an editor, and Clare has vouched for her. Circulate request
on AIM loop, Oblong collective loop and others.
Sebastian (visitor from Germany) could be approached for
tech support.
6. Application from Arafura IMC which would replace the
dysfunctional Darwin IMC. Sydney IMC are sponsoring this
proposal. We decided Windymedia also supports this. Urs will
let them know, and also inform AIMC list.
Meeting closed 8 pm
Next meeting: Wednesday 10 May, 7 pm at Fidel's Cafe
