New Volunteers

Katie and Kerry will look into organizing a skillshare for html
skills. Welcome to Sam, Kerry and Katie who are getting involved.
There has been a good response to Asher's callout on the AIM site with
a few new eds being trained.

Aotearoa Newsreal

Windy has offered to fund purchase of blank DVDs and other costs so
Asher can reproduce these. Funds from sales of the DVD to support the
Urewera 17. Will be distributed widely.

Last Film Night

Turnout for Road to Guantanamo a bit sad. No word on whether we get
any funds out of it yet.

Next Film Night

Possibilities for next film night (February?):
Invisible Children (55 mins) about child soldiers in Africa. Arty but good.
Shorter film about indigenous people affected by nuclear power
(35min). Bit amateur?
Escape From Suburbia (feature length) – follow up to End of Suburbia

Film night not until Feb 2008 because attendance slows down at the end
of the year.

Strategy – becoming the source of radical films in Wellington that
will not be otherwise available.

Discussion of Indymedia film nights relationship with Cross film
night. Overlap in subject matter, but quite different audience.

Advertising – Film Archive advertise on their lists. Ken emails to
other interested email lists (anarchism, indymedia).

Networking

Discussion of connections, bringing smaller groups together on
activities that they share an interest in.

Finances

$407 in the bank. This months W((i))ndy cost $110 because double
issue. Previous months $40. Possible money coming in from Septembers
film night.

Next W(i)ndy

Aiming for 28th release date. Ken has been doing it single-handed,
mostly derived from website content. Other volunteers who can use
Freehand are welcome. Collate articles from website, mostly feature,
with local/national/international if possible. Layout with pictures in
Pagemaker. Also a role in helping with photocopying and distro. Sizes
of images has become a problem because some are too small/lo-res for
print media.

If you wanna help get in touch with Ken.

Currently in Freehand. Could it be moved to Open Office or another
open source product? It'd be easier for contributors.

VBC Radio show

Happening every Thursday, Ali and Mark are looking after it. They
source most of their material from the AIM site. Do Ali and Mark want
help with the show from other members of the collective?

hits on AIM site

What information can we get about the AIM site?

Google analytics ruled out, as providing information to Google is
unacceptable.

Need to investigate if we have a log analyser, and if not, what
analyser would be best for AIM.

Next meeting

Wednesday 12th December (2nd Wednesday of the month), 7pm Oblong.
