DOCUMENTARY FILM EXPOSING AMERICAN VOTING SYSTEM
Emmy award winner and Oscar nominated social issue filmmaker Dorothy
Fadiman will present her latest documentary 'Stealing America: Vote by
Vote' in Wellington on March 5th.
Employing first-person accounts, extensive research and clips gleaned
from the nightly news, the film sheds light on a decade of vote
counts in America that don't match votes cast. These include
uncounted ballots, vote switching, under-votes and many other examples
of election totals that warrant serious investigation. In a review,
Film Journal International stated “Stealing America: Vote by Vote does
for American democracy what An Inconvenient Truth did for global
warming”.
Dorothy Fadiman has been producing award-winning media with a focus on
social justice and human rights since 1976 and has won more than 50
major awards, including an Emmy for her production From Danger to
Dignity: The Fight for Safe Abortion (Producer/Co-Director), and an
Oscar nomination for Best Short Subject, as well as the Gold Medal
from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, for When Abortion Was
Illegal: Untold Stories (Co-Producer/Director).
‘Stealing America: Vote By Vote’ on 5 March at The Film School, 86
Vivian St,
Wellington. Tickets $5 WIFT members, $10 others. Door sales, cash only.
