We're setting up a free computer lab at Stone Soup. By free we mean free
as in zero dollars, but more importantly, we also mean free as in
freedom. http://www.gnu.org/philosophy/why-free.html

On Saturday May 12th at 3pm, we're going to have a work day/skill share
to kick it off. The idea is to teach people while we're setting up the
lab, so hopefully we can start to build a community of people who can
maintain the lab, rather than depending on a few elite geeks. If you're
interested in learning about computer hardware, Ubuntu and other free
software, or how to set up a network, come and learn by doing. If you
already know that stuff and want to teach other people, even better. If
you just want to help out a neat community center, that's a good reason
to come, too.

We have some computers, but we're looking for donations, preferably
computers that meet the Ubuntu recommended minimum requirements. We're
just as glad to save Macs from their evil corporate masters as we are to
save Windows PCs.
