[Ircd] offering help again

Hi!

So I just subscribed to this mailing list now, and I feel it's time for
me to officially volunteer my time as an IRC operator. I've already
offered my help before but it fell through the cracks of time for some
reason:

http://lists.indymedia.org/pipermail/ircd/2007-February/0204-c5.html

I don't want to insist too much on this, but I want to stand by my offer
clearly too. :)

I am interested in maintenance of the IRC server, operation of the IRC
daemon and services, and also of the (eventual) SILC services (which are
on a riseup server if I understand correctly?). I suggested that we
could provide extra (v)server space for such services at Koumbit, but
right now I don't want to go this direction and strictly focus on
helping with the already existing infrastructure.

I have a long time experience maintaining Debian and FreeBSD servers and
various (mostly web) services. I have a formal training in programming
but I mostly do sysadmin these days for the Koumbit.org non profit,
based in Montreal.

Thanks for your time and have a good weekend,
