Background: I am 34 yrs old, GAY, look effeminate even when I don't try to, and weigh - at my best - only 127 pounds. I have been diagnosed with Asperger's syndrome, PTSD, and bipolar disorders. I am a recovering drug addict in prison in Texas where I have already served 14 years of a 20 yrs drug-related sentence. 

On May 24, 2006, after asking a guard not to please yell at me, I was brutally beaten by two guards: 8 stiches on my chin, six by my eye. My face is swallen, my head aches. I am now recovered at the Montford's psychiatric unit in Texas where I am receiving medical help. I will be disfigured when I get out. I DID NOT assault an officer as they claim, they beat me up while in handcuffs. They want to send me back to the Allred unit where I will probably die at the hand of the officers who don't like my being gay with transgender issues. I am sending you this note so that, if you cannot do an article, you will at least take note. Should I die in prison at least you will now how it happened.

 

Please, do what you can to let everyone know what's happening. Allred is the most violent unit in Texas also at the hand of insensitive guards who do not understand mental illness and punish you when you when you get sick because they didn't give you your medication or gave you the wrong ones.
