Hi,

we've recently strengthened our ani-spam filters (updated and extended
our RBL list). With this, remarkably less spam now makes it through to
the mailing lists and the you at yourimc.indymedia.org and
you at indymedia.org email aliases.

Some pretty pics on spam:
http://sarai.indymedia.org/cgi-bin/mailgraph.cgi

Unfortunately, with the more tight spam settings, there have been some
reports of people being unable to send email to mailing lists. All of
them were using email accounts hosted with Yahoo.

While deciding to have your email for communication about political
issues and freedom of expression hosted with a company which is known to
have voluntarly passed information on a chinese dissident to the chinese
government (which got him many years in jail) and did several other more
than questionable things in the past could be considered weird if not
silly, we Listworkers should still try to get your email delivered.

Unfortunately, Yahoo doesn't make it so easy for us. They do
(unintendedly) transport a remarkable amount of spam, often sent by
robots which automatically (and wide scale) crack Yahoos' new account
signup CAPTCHAS (those images with the cats + dogs + digits + letters in
them) just to relay their spam through Yahoo. So it's not easy to
determine who sends legitimate email through Yahoo and who does not.
Four people were recently unable to send email to lists.indymedia.org
because of this, receiving an error message referring them to
'Lashback', http://www.lashback.com/, one of the external antispam data
providers we use.

Since I'm the one who made these recent tweaks to the antispam
configuration, I should also be the one to fix them if it seems like our
filters are regularly overreacting. If you happen to know of someone,
not just Yahoo users, who were recently or still are unable to send
email to email addresse such as anything at anything.indymedia.org or
anything at indymedia.org, please let us know at listwork at sos.indymedia.org.

Thank you!

Alster

dopo un paio di minuti il tipo ha mandato un'altra email dicendo di contattarlo qui:

alster at riseup.net

ciao
jilt
