yea, currently lists are added to lurker archives on the fly.
this function exists to prevent mail loss in the case that new lists
are created on listhost but not configured in lurker.conf.

the problem still exists anyway for search, splash etc pages, as they
show multi-list options. lurker doesn't split html pages by lists in all
cases.
an idea i just got, would be to patch lurker the way that it supports a
private option for lists, what disables cross-list searches etc and the
public advertisement of the 'private' lists.
if we combine this with mailman authentication model, we should have
private, non-publically accessable lists. i'll investigate this and talk
to upstream.

but still the problem with cross-postings exists.
