Micah and Pietro have been taking on this today. Any updates on the
situation will probably end up in /var/log/sysadminlog or here on the
mailing list.

The target HDD had been broken. It was replaced by now. However, there
were still issues with the backup process. These are hopefully solved by
now. We should know by tomorrow.
