[New-imc] IMC Palestine discussion + into of another local media activist involved

 Hello,

Would like to add this to the discussion - sorry this
is sort of butting into the middle of things but we
just realized this was going on...

(my) intro, Rona:
Started with IMC in Boston around October (3) 2000,
started with Israel and helped a bit to facilitate IMC
Palestine's last application. I concentrate on media,
(mostly working under IMC Israel)

but also play other roles. I'm fluent in Hebrew and
understand basic Arabic.

(my)IMC Palestine history:
IMC Palestine like everything else IMC is a living
network; it  is now about 5 years old. The 'defunct'
group is still 'around' but not so active, there are
two on-going attempts to establish new centers, there
is the most recent application, and finally there are
individual Palestinians, Internationals, and whoever
is between, already involved with IMC and Palestine
issues in one way or another, locally and/or globally,
on the long term and random range.

Suggestion/s:
Having a list, refreshed or new, is a good idea. On
that note, Raad, cc'd and who's intro/response to the
discussion is below, would make a good
co/administrator and co/facilitator for this process.
He has been in touch with some of the folks involved
with the most recent applications and generally knows
almost everyone involved in some way, but was not
aware of this list. A long termer that knows the full
history well would also be helpful, but I guess that
also depends on how active the list is in general.

hey all,

i'm raad, a palestinian activist experienced with
indymedia since dec 2003. i've worked independently,
with imc israel, and other imcs and organizations. i
concentrate on video and web editing, mostly content
about resistance to the apartheid wall. i speak
arabic, hebrew, and english. i'm really happy to
participate in this discussion -- its a great attempt
to recreate imc palestine and i would like to
contribute what i can. 

here are my concerns about the most recent
application:

1- two of the co founders of organization and one is
the manager of one who ran for the last palestinian
legislative council elections.

2- i dont feel it is appropriate to call the new imc
'imc palestine' since its not representing
palestinians from all palestine its just representing
palestinians from  bethlehem.

3- in addition to that i agree with the concerns and
support the person asking about culture and folklore.

4- no one of this group (palestinian have a previous
experience in directing imc) unless they were part of
the last imc which we most of us have had problems
with.
