Well, I don't think it is the right time for that discussion now.
Petros, please try to do something destressing and pleasurable for the day
like going swimming or cinema or hang out with friends.
Please do avoid anything crazy.
I appreciate you and your work and I am very impressed by the amount of
thoughts and sympathy and work you have shown in the past.
Indymedia is a constant love-hate relationship, where we are getting
pushed to our limits of bringing out the best and worst we humans have to
offer in communication.
But I am sure, if you would meet in person you would probably really like
ach other and get on well.
Let us continue the discussion when things have calmed down a bit.
If people, especially volunteers, try to work in a warzone, then often
there is a lot of frustration, hypersensitivity, anger of the personal
helplessness, sleep deprivation, high levels of anxiety and similar. We
all say and write things in such situation we later regret.
I do think everybody wants the best and at the moment I fail to see the
practical relevancy of the discussion and the main underlying point.
Feature looks good by the way. Am curious to see some more reporting about
the suspected chemical weapons. It would be good to have a doctor
confirming that the extend of internal injuries is unusual and new for
conventional weapons. Pictures of patients would probably violate
confidentiality but might make more impact.
But apart from publicising news, we are still pretty helpless as indymedia
volunteers.
The recent events just illustrate that an imc palestine would be very good
for the international indymedia community. I don't know if it would help
with things on the ground though. Sometimes and in some situations other
media outlets might be more useful though.
This is for the people there on the ground to decide what they want to do
and how to handle it. Blogs are much better for expressing subjective
impressions maybe, but only everything together can only puzzle together
and sum up a truth.
Discussions are always helpfull to get a better understanding towards each
other, but in stress situation can be quite annoying.
Also the G8 is on this weekend.
So let's calm down a bit over the opinions and feelings and focus on the
practical support we could give.
Discussion may best be held when the danger of imediate attacks and
threats has passed.
see you later
Ulla
