end of the Hamilton Ontario Canada collective:

Hi folks:

The time period for my proposal from Wednesday of last week has passed, and
so, sad to say, the IMC Hamilton Collective is no more.

As I said in the proposal I intend to keep the site up labeled as an IMC
Site while I attempt to create an affiliation with other IMC folks in
Ontario. This will be subject to the consent of the IMC Global collective
of which all sites are a part, I hope they will be supportive of this
effort.

If and as I make any progress with this effort I'll post to this list, my
hope is that I'll be sucessful and may wind up working with some of you on
this in the future, time will tell

Hi folks:

This is a formal proposal:

Given that I have heard no reply to my last posting copied below from any
member of the IMC Hamilton List and

Given that IMC Hamilton has not, in my opinion, met the requirements for
membership in the Global Indymedia Collective for a year or so.

I submit that to carry on as we are now is not in the best interests of the
IMC project in the large sense, or of IMC activity in Hamilton.

And I thus propose that the IMC Hamilton Collective as it presently exsists
be wound up and ended.

I further propose the following specifics with regard to the finances of
the IMC Hamilton Collective:

That the outstanding loan to Maggie H. for $200 for repairs to her computer
be forgiven.

I do not have a current balance for our account, but it is less than $75.

I propose that Andrew and I, who are the signing officers for the account
be given the mandate to close the account and use the funds as follows:

Firstly: To pay any outstanding debts of which we become aware. I don't
know of any, but I'll check with Andrew, and if any on this list know of
any now is the time to say so.

Secondly: To transfer any remaining funds to me in consideration for what I
have spent in internet fees keeping the site running on my server for the
last year. (my internet bill is $98 per month)

Our normal practice for the approval of proposals by email is that any
desent be expressed by email to the IMC hamilton email list list within 24
hours, I propose extending this time period to 96 hours for this proposal.

My intentions:

Subject to the approval of this proposal I intend to keep the IMC Hamilton
website on line and attempt to create a working group affiliation with one
or more of the other IMC collectives in this area to enable the Hamilton
project to continue but in accord with IMC Global requirements and our
exsisting mission statement.

I hope that this is self explanitory.

I also hope that I can get support from the Global collective here in 
keeping IMC going in Hamilton, which for now means I think keeping the 
site up and on the cities list, we me running it solo but in accord with 
IMC principals and our editorial policy while I attempt to form a 
colaberation with other IMC folks in my region, so that it can continue 
as part of their collective...

Trusting that folks here are o.k. with that and that this was the right 
list to bring this to, I'm not really sure how this sort of thing has 
been done in the past.
