you're in cyprus?  i thought you were with imc-india.....i'm confused, which imc are you with?

i'm in palestine...have been here since january....this is my third time spending an extensive period of time here.....i gave my bio when i introduced myself....originally from dc, and have been involved in about 20 indymedia startups, mostly during convergences...any of whom can vouch for me.  but i don't represent indymedia any more than anyone else does....

i am just tired of having to defend, over and over, the most committed and non-hierarchical and open group of media activists i've met in palestine, to people who aren't even here and don't even know the people they are insisting be given power.  the first 'principle of unity' is that local indymedias be autonomous, and locally-run.

all of this is irrelevant anyway, as i believe that imemc/pnn and the assorted other folks that put together this proposal are withdrawing their application....
but they will be submitting that withdrawal themselves to the new-imc list when they decide for sure.....

as multiple people, from imemc, pnn and various other organizations and individuals supporting this imc proposal have told me, and have expressed on the list, they are more interested in building a real, grassroots, non-hierarchical media network in palestine than in trying to deal with indymedia.

it's hard enough reporting when people are getting killed around you, including relatives and friends......then to come to the computer to report it and finding your inbox full of indymedia drama.........

well, you may be disappointed to realize that in fact i'm not attempting to abuse or manipulate you, or anyone else.  i am tired and frustrated, and my palestinian colleagues are even more so.  now, if you'll please excuse me, i need to go follow up on the report of the sixteen more people that israeli forces killed in their home just now.
