Below is a copy of a letter from George, one of the colleagues who is 
involved in the effort for a renewed imc-Palestine.

Below it is a letter from me. I sent a copy of my letter to everyone who 
was CC'd on George's letter, but I will not include those names and 
address in this public version of the letter.

It's obvious from the communications being exchanged that there's plenty 
of discussion occuring about this effort to which we (new-imc 
work-group) do not have access, yet. At some point I hope we'll be 
updated by someone.

Marhaba and Hello,
George, Ghassan, Jenka, Anna and the rest of our colleagues and
prospective colleagues,

I don't know how many of you are following the dialogue about the
renewal of the Palestine IndyMedia which is occuring within the new-imc
work-group of indymedia, so I wanted to share this with you.

The new-imc group is charged with the responsibility of helping to
facilitate the formation of Palestine IndyMedia. There is no other body
within imc that can do this. We need to open a dialogue among us. I'd
like to encourage you as strongly as possible to participate in this
dialogue - primarily, this encouragement is addressed to our Palestinian
colleagues who should the ones spearheading this effort.

There is no substitute for this step. The dialogue needs to eventually
bypass all the intermediary individuals, no matter how honest,
committed, genuine they are as allies.

Some of us within the new-imc work-group have facilitated/overseen the
creation of more than a hundred imc groups, and have also witnessed the
dissolution, destruction, or "hostile takeover" of several of them. We
have a lot of flexible knowledge and experience on how to proceed,
things to avoid, concerns to explore and to investigate together with
you. Please give us a chance to do this together with you, step by step,
in order to ensure that the process will reflect a true self-
organization by Palestinian activist-journalists, and will also be in
keeeping with IndyMedia principles.


Please have a look at the recent three letters exchanged among the
new-imc volunteers, and also please keep returning to the Archives of
the list (link below) to keep up with the dialogue.

At some point, it would be good if one or two Palestinian members of the
organization that's now being formed to embody imc-Palestine, were to
join (enroll) on the new-imc list so that we can have participatin in
the dialogue directly.

Regardless of whether you go forward with the decision about investing
time and effort into an irc discussion, please give some thought to:

- establishing an imc-palestine email group (also known as "list")
within the imc network, on which we can discuss together in depth the
many items that need to be sorted out,

- starting now, today, a list of items to be discussed to which we can
all contribute various themes and concerns.
