Hello,
I wanted to share with you two letters exchanged with Shadi Fadda about
the imc-Palestine project. He has agreed to share this correspondence
with the new-imc work-group. Shadi is the editor/publisher of the "Today
in Palestine! ~ Headlines" compilation:
http://www.theheadlines.org/
More information about Shadi, here:

Shadi's involvement shows that the effort to rejuvenate imc-Palestine is
being extended to a wider circle, and I'm glad for that. If we can keep
extending it to embrace a wider cross-section of the progressive and
radical community we'll be in the right direction.
In essence, the work of our Palestinian contacts and prospective
colleagues in recent times, has been to fill in the vacuum left by the
absence of our indymedia Palestine organization. I hope we'll find a way
to bring those efforts together now, within the context of imc.
The two letters are below.
Thanks,
Petros

Subject: Re: palestine indymedia - online meeting
Dear Friends,
I feel it to be a great idea to unite as many of the Palestinian
groups working on the media issue, and work as one bigger group. That is
something we can learn from the success of Zionist propaganda groups
(CAMERA, Campus Watch, HONEST-REPORTING, FRONT-PAGE-MAGAZINE...).
On the other hand, I believe that it would be much better would you
provide us with already achieved decisions between the two ( PNN & IMEMC
). What would be the rules of the indymedia. What is the goal of its?
Who'd be posting? Would the indymedia be simply the sum of the two
sources?...
Thanks for your time, and best of luck!
Yours,
Shadi

Hello Shadi,
Thank you for writing. I'm glad to see that there's interest in this
project from you, coming from a circle which is wider than (outside
from) the two other groups (PNN and IMEMC). Thank you, I feel that it
will be a lot better if we can expand this effort as you say, to include
a wider base in unity.
On the issue of decisions, etc, nothing is binding yet, everything is
open. We can address everything when the dialogue begins with indymedia.
And we will have to do it with transparency and openess, so that all of
us are aware of every step being made and in a way so that every concern
can be shared by all.
If it's ok with you I would like to send a copy of your letter to the
new-imc work-group with a short introduction about your work (the "Today
in Palestine! ~ Headlines" project). Our imc colleagues will be happy to
see that the effort is expanding. May I?
Thanks,
Petros
