Well, i agree that all of these are quite important concerns - but 
i was looking for something that would obtain consensus...  Anyway,
in version 1.4, i've removed the signatures.

This is why i reset the deadline.

[i would say "any significant change" rather than "any change". There
could, in principle, be changes which are clearly minor and
uncontroversial.]
