introductory_statement:
We understand and appreciate the usefulness of Indymedia thanks to our prior use and involvement in other IMC's in the greek region (IMC Athens, IMC Thessaloniki). We envision the establishment of an IMC in the country's third largest city, Patras, as contributing to the further decentralising of the network. IMC Patras will not be competitive to IMC Athens or other IMC's in the region; rather, it envisions helping to decentralise and channel information appropriately.

resources:
IMC Athens has kindly offered to help cover our server and bandwith needs, at least during our project's initial stage. In terms of organizing and administering the website, IMC-Patras will be entirely autonomous, though some co-operation with IMC Athens will be sought. 

outreach:
Our meetings have been advertised with posters in the city's streets and postings on IMC Athens. We have tried to make it clear that our meetings are entirely open and we have achieved attracting quite a diverse crowd from within the city's activist/political scene. We will try to approach people from more diverse backgrounds in the future. 

identity_makeup:
So far, in some aspects, it does not: We have a particularly big problem in reflecting gender/sexual diversity and tackling this in the future is a very high priority for us. One of the ideas proposed is to form a local IMC Women's group - more ideas will hopefully come out of our planned "launch weekend" in September. 

steps_represent_diversity:
This exact issue will be the topic of a workshop in our launch weekend in September. Ideas so far include forming a women's group and using various off-internet propaganda (IMC newspaper, stickers posters etc) to approach under-represented groups. 

steps_involve_new_workfields:
Skill-sharing workshops are due to take place during our launch weekend and hopefully on an ongoing basis as well. We hope that, should a gendered work division arise, it will be brought up and dealt with in our collective's regular meetings.
