hi akop,
Based on the guidelines at:
https://docs.indymedia.org/view/Global/NewImcHowTo
i've put a summary of the information i could find about IMC Piter
organising on the central/eastern europe twiki page:
https://docs.indymedia.org/view/Local/ImcCEEurope#Piter_http_en_wikipedia_org_wiki
It's a wiki - you're welcome to "register" and then keep it up-to-date.
i think that you look mostly well organised - many of the answers to
the "Principles of Unity" and "Membership Criteria" are in your
"Policy" document - it's OK to say, for example, "Yes, see 3.1 of our
Policy", so it's just a matter of doing a bit of editing work by your
collective to organise the information... :)
This month's central/east europe imc informal chat is planned for
Thursday 28 June, 22:00 UTC+4 (Moscow time) - #europe
https://irc.indymedia.org (see http://belarus.indymedia.org/7070).
i'm sure people from other indymedias in the region would be pleased
to "meet" you.

Thanks, though i'm still a little confused - the russian version
is dated 05/05/2007 - 01:32 :: pokahontas
http://piter.indymedia.ru/ru/node/2870
while the english version is from three days earlier
02/05/2007 - 19:39 :: akop38

The organising documents are meant mainly for people who live locally,
not just for english speakers, so i would have thought that the
russian version would be the original that your collective consensed
on, and the english version would be a translation of that (but the
dates of the articles suggest the other way around).
Anyway, this sort of thing might be easier to discuss on irc (chat).
Just a reminder about the political power relations here:
* i'm just one volunteer in the new-imc group, trying to guess what
the new-imc group thinks, and the new-imc group is trying to guess
that the whole indymedia network would be likely to feel about whether
or not your collective is ready to be part of the network. But i should
not control the new-imc group, and the new-imc group should not control
the network.
So, if you (IMC Piter) get tired of my questions or think they are
unfair, unreasonable, etc., then you should say that you want to be
proposed to the new-imc group even if i think you're not ready yet.
And if the new-imc group says it thinks you're not ready, but you
(again, collective you = IMC Piter) disagree and want to be proposed
to the network, then you could ask the new-imc group to propose you to
the network even though the new-imc group feels that you are not ready.
It might not be a good idea to ignore my questions/suggestions, and it
might not be a good idea to ignore the new-imc working group's
questions/suggestions, but we're a non-hierarchical, non-authoritarian
network, so you certainly have the right to either.
Anyway, enough non-hierarchy theory. Hope to chat to you Thursday night...
