supporting_groups:
(In regards to the last questions, we are regional focused, event focused, and issue focused) supporting groups:
Trance Psyndicate (our main group now), The Chilluminati (a collective that I also represent), The Smoker's Den, various Illinois State University student bodies, nearly every independent artist in the Bloomington-Normal/Peoria Illinois area.
introductory_statement:
We strongly feel that this is the logical direction to take our existing organization. We're long-time promoters of diversity among peers, freedom of self-expression, and responsibility of human actions. We also feel that we will be able to make an even larger positive impact on the community than we ever have before.
resources:
I personally have been promoting events in the Midwest for 10 years. I have organized over 100 successful events. I am experienced in HTML/CSS/PHP/JavaScript/XML and currently host our existing web projects on an Apple Xserve Intel. Bandwidth is no issue. I have built and maintained over a dozen websites. One of our volunteers is a sound/lighting engineer. We have in-house graphics design. We have an unlimited supply of quality labor.
outreach:
We are active promoters of the Earthdance global peace initiative. We have hosted the most successful Earthdance event in the Midwest for the past 2 years. In addition to this, we actively promote independent music and arts anywhere and everywhere we can, ranging from artwork to fire spinning to music production. We have promoted several events in conjunction with other like-minded organizations as well.
identity_makeup:
Our events are known for cultural diversity with the expectation that nobody is judging or being judged against. We offer our patrons respect is every regard. We have always been volunteer driven as it is anyway.
steps_represent_diversity:
We are committed to being the "open-source" within our own interests, and are very interested in sharing these concepts with anyone who will listen. We believe that there would be little conflict in this regard.
steps_involve_new_workfields:
We do not believe in gendered work division. We believe that anyone who CAN contribute SHOULD and WILL. We have had nothing but remarkable success in promoting gender equality at our events in the past.
Through the sharing of ideas and maintaining clear lines of communication I believe that we will be able to get individuals involved at an exceptional rate. I personally work very well with others, and have always been able to motivate and get things done.
