hi ben, just an update on your list:

 > http://chilesur.indymedia.org Frozen since Nov 2006
 > http://india.indymedia.org/ Suspended in 2006

both are hosted by imc brasil, both had their own collectives ask us to
froze their sites. And has being this way since 2006 as you pointed out.
I don't see them as indymedia collectives or sites, since is a frozen
site. But is a resource for information that should be up and available
to the public.

the server is having problems and we are working on with ppl from paris
has being about a month, they are being attacked by bots like crazy and
that is making the cpu usage goes way too high for the rest of the
server...that is why you see it as 404 but ppl from paris are still
active and on irc with us working on it in a daily basis.

Well our home is safe :P heheh I am kidding, I just want to say that the
server where those frozen sites (chilesur and india) are is safe and is
backed up etc. I think is a good idea to have them separate from the
list of sites that are avaliable. maybe they should be in a section
inside the list that says imc archives, and list the frozen sites...
I just think that if we send the users to another page so they can see
what are the frozen sites etc, the user will never do it...so maybe
keeping the links in the same place so the user can see it right away,
would be better, and they can link and access the sites.
If there are any frozen sites that doesnt have a 'good home' :) imc tech
brasil could host them as well, host the frozen ones is way easy :P then
the active ones hehe

ciao
