i think you mean "should you email privately or on this mailing list?"
That's up to you to choose. There's a long page

  https://docs.indymedia.org/view/Global/NewImcHowHelpUs

for new-imc helpers. It's old and long, but maybe it will help.

My suggestion is that the organising process and your contacts should
best be public. At least in the relatively-less-repressive countries
that seems best. But in Russia that can be dangerous if people do not
know and use basic internet security methods. You know the situation
better than i do, and how much transparency and openness is possible.

The IMC network is non-authoritarian :) and tries to function by
consensus. So:

If you think what i did for IMC Piter was good and consistent with the
consensus of the network, then probably you should give the same type of
help.

If you think what i did for IMC Piter was *not* consistent with the
consensus of the network, then do something different, which you think
will be acceptable by the network.

What i just said is serious: we really don't know what is "correct" as
a socially just, and also efficient and systematic way to run our
network. So far we have some ideas and experience and hope that they
are useful to others. A lot (but not all) of these ideas and
experiences are written on the twiki (mostly in English only, sorry).

Think of it as Sartrean existentialism. There's no "God" out there to
decide for you, there is only Google - see
http://www.thechurchofgoogle.org/ - if you ask Her a question (pray to
Her), then She will immediately give you ten answers.
