[New-imc] New Victoria (BC, Canada) collective: editorial policy

We have thought about your comments about of our "open" editorial
policy (or lack of policy more to the point) & after reading some
scathing critiques of IMCs and IMC process we have decided for the
purpose of protecting our credibility and for respect for the IMC
goals in general, to spell out specific editorial standards for
article content on our site. We hope you can approve of these policies
and look forward to working with the global indymedia network soon. In
the mean time we continue to provide our community with up to date
alternative news coverage of events in our area.

To submit an article you must first become a registered user.
Anybody can register as a user. Registration does not require approval
from moderators.
Once registered a user can submit an article. All articles must be
approved by site moderators before being posted on the site.
All articles that meet our editorial policy will be treated with equal
respect and will be posted in the correct place.
Our Editorial Policy is as follows.
Articles MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA to be posted:
- Front page articles must be relevant to the Vancouver
Island/Sunshine Coast area.
- All articles must be real news stories about events/actions that
have or are going to take place in real life; This is not a site for
personal rants.
Articles containing the following content WILL NOT BE POSTED
- Articles that contain oppressive, hateful, racist, fascist,
xenophobic, sexist content, or any other content that is considered by
the editorial collective to be contrary to the objective of human
equality.
- Obviously non-factual or misleading material.
- Personal or product promotion.
- Mass-posted articles/spam.
