I quoted too much (although some of the points mentioned in the answers are
really interesting). I should have quoted only this:

I thought that it is essential to open posting, that the posted content is
shown instantly on the website without prior moderation as defined in the
wikipedia article (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Open_publishing):
"Open publishing is a process of creating news or other content that is
transparent to the readers. They can contribute a story and see it instantly
appear in the pool of stories publicly available."
Of course, I do agree that it is necessary to remove postings that do not
comply with the editorial guidelines. I asked my question because I thought
that by moderating the postings before showing them there is a lack of
transparency as cencensorship may happen unnoticed.
But now that thought about it again, there are other ways to inform about
decisions made by the moderators, e.g. a trash bin or a list of censored
articles. How is this handled by Victoria IMC?
