hi imc corea,
Great news that you're having another go at organising! :)
The huge amount of activism in S Korea could contribute a huge
amount to the network, and i'm sure the network would be happy to
support you as you get autonomously organised and networked.

Most people in the indymedia network are aware of the problem of English
dominance and we try various ways of overcoming it. Spanish/Portuguese
speaking IMC's have lists in that pair of languages; there is also a
francophone mailing list.
You are most welcome to network in your region and see if you can find
alternative language solutions.
The three active IMCs in East/South-East Asia have their mailing lists here:
IMC Jakarta http://lists.indymedia.org/mailman/listinfo/imc-jakarta
IMC Japan http://lists.indymedia.org/mailman/listinfo/imc-japan
IMC Manila http://lists.indymedia.org/mailman/listinfo/imc-ph-manila
and you can find their web pages easily.
If you want to create IMC Corea and you want to choose one of the
four main national languages, or maybe Esperanto, to communicate in
your region, of course that's your right. The main argument for Esperanto
is that people can learn it very fast, people from the different
countries start out at equal learning levels.
There's no magic answer for language problems: even people who want
to avoid dominance by one language have to choose whether to spend more
time translating in a second lanugage, or rather just get something done
fast.
Maybe since you have such a huge activist level in (South) Korea,
probably some of you speak some of the different regional languages.
You could have one person introduce him/herself and join the imc-japan
mailing list to help communicate there nihongo ni, another person join
the imc-jakarta introduce him/herself di bahasa indonesia atau bahasa
jawa atau bahasa sunda, and another join imc-ph-manila. You don't
have to wait until you have finished the organising process. The
organising process is all about networking and being autonomous and
sustainable without any centralised authority.

Our best (a huge amount of) documentation is on our wiki, which is
unfortunately down right at the moment. Try:
https://docs.indymedia.org/Local/
and look for links to the East/South-East Asia IMCs, but you might
still need to wait some time. There's also suggestions/guides about
getting organised/networked starting at:
https://docs.indymedia.org/Global/NewImcHowTo
Again, right now this website is *down*. You can find archived copies
of these pages at http://archive.org
but that can be a little slow.
If you're interested in having a multilanguage site, you might
find the samizdat software, used by IMC Belarus, IMC Ukraine, IMC Torun,
and IMC-getting-organised Venezuela-Centro interesting. IMC Japan has
an experimental samizdat site started also.
https://belarus.indymedia.org
https://ukraine.indymedia.org
https://torun.indymedia.org
http://venezuela-centro.axxs.org
http://g8.japan.indymedia.org
Esperanto is already implemented in samizdat. There is an esperanto
mailing list for global features - if you want to avoid english
dominance, and if some people in other regional imcs (jakarta, japan,
manila) were interested, you might want to try that:
http://lists.indymedia.org/pipermail/www-esperanto/
It would very much be a bootstrap problem: if enough people in the
region agree and will learn/use esperanto, then it will become a useful
global indymedia language. Just an idea...
