Hello All, sorry for the late reply on this :-)

> 2) your location and with which IMC do you work?
I'm a traveller based in the Yorkshire area in the UK and I am part of
IMC Northern England (formerly IMC Leeds/Bradford and IMC York as part
of the UK mir site, we have recently merged and are officially launchin
our new site as IMC Northern England on 1st August)
> 3) specific roles/tasks you take up in your local collective or tools
> you may have developed that might be useful for broader help/support

> procedures, translation teams, feature teams etc...
I am the technical contact for IMC Northern England and administer our
server and site along with other techie members of our collective. I
have recently implemented our new site at
https://www.northern-indymedia.org which uses the Hyperactive CMS as
developed by IMC London and IMC Denmark and used by others including
ourselves, IMC Kansas City (US), who we are in contact with and soon
will be used by IMC Nottinghamshire (UK). I am a bit-part developer with
this project and have also committed minor changes to Mir as used by UK
Indymedia.
I also administer a server for IMC Nottinghamshire and am currently
helping them to install and use Hyperactive at
nottingham.indymedia.org.uk which they will be switching over to once it
is ready.
I am always willing to participate in any aspect of the work undertaken
by our collective, recently my focus has been on the technical side of
things and on outreach to new areas, including providing a "Be the
media" facility at this years Glastonbury Festival in the UK. In these
areas I could be most helpful to new IMC's, particularly any that need
help to deploy Hyperactive or other Rails sites or need advice on
carbon-neutral and solar powered outreach work which to me is the best
part of the new imc process. As we are currently going through the new
IMC process ourselves, I believe that experience could be valuable for
others who may follow and wish to pass on any skills and lessons we
learn to others, whilst also learning from them.
I have been in many irc meetings and so could help to organise these as
a point of contact between myself/our collective and new applicants
collectives and could facilitate these. Also, I enjoy most the
experience of working with others (there is sometimes conflict but I'm
always willing to listen and learn and be flexible enough to back down
where necessary).
> 4) language(s) you speak?
English only.
> 5) which new collectives have you assisted, you currently assist, or
> you are willing to assist in future?
Our own collective are currently assisting each other to go through the
new IMC process, and on a technical level I am currently assisting IMC
Nottinghamshire to move to their own site pending their new-imc
application. I am willing to help any IMC who requires any help I can
give them, but naturally I feel I may be of most use to those from
english speaking regions, though I am always willing to learn new skills
and languages.
> 6) what do you see as your contribution to new collectives and the
> new-imc working group? General support, special skills, technical
> skills, ideas etc?
I think my technical skills are possibly the major thing I can share,
but also the lessons we are learning at the moment by going through the
process ourselves. When we took over the Leeds/Bradford site a year ago
we inherited a site that had been abandoned for 2 years and so had to
make things up as we went along. We made lots of mistakes but we are now
at the point where we are a strong and hugely enthusiastic collective
through a years hard work at creating ways of working well together.
This is something important I believe we could pass on.
> 7) Anything else you find important to share with the rest of this
> working group
Just a smile and a gesture of solidarity to you all :-)
