actually, UC is incorporated. by definition, it's a corporation.  
501(C)3 status comes with corporate cert. (here's a copy of their  
"letter of incorporation," proudly displayed on their website:  
http://www.ucimc.org/files/UCIMC-Incorportation_Front_Letter.png.  
signed by the US secretary of state, no less. and here is their  
bylaws, in which they refer to themselves as "this corporation":

and it's WAY different than portland IMC. and i really hope most IMCs.

(for example, i hope it's the only imc with a "president"....)
