I spoke on a panel this morning @ new college re: pacifica & indymedia..
One thing that came up was that the new kpfa general manager actually
supposedly supports having an indymedia show on kpfa (note this wasn't
something i suggested). but what also came up was that the new g.m. --
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0132095/ -- doesn't sound so great, being a
typical hollywood liberal producer type. also he was quite defensive
during the audience question portion of the panel, raising the tension
in the room more than a notch.

there seem to be a lot of people who would like to get more "younger
people" on air and improve the news.. but the whole kpfa environment
sounds more toxic than ever.

some of our most talented and dedicated folks aren't really around
(e.g. sunny and sarah) but if they were, and we could put together a
collective of folks actually willing to take on a kpfa show.. who
knows..

I know that some people, particularly sunny, have been fed up with
trying to work w/ indymedia but i still think there's a lot of positive
potential for connections between indybay.org, fault lines, street
level tv, indymedia network and a wider radio audience....

Food for thought. In the meantime, everyone put up your pirate
transmitters and take back the airwaves!
