Karen,

I suggest you transfer the 16mm to mini-dv.  This will make for easy and 
good quality editing.

There are a number of companies in the sf and east bay yellow pages that 
can do this.  I would suggest calling about five to find a good price.

After that, I'm sure you will have no problem finding help with editing 
and DVD creation from within the videoacvtist community.
