I think this is largely a result of the database dumps gradually getting 
lareger over time (as each site's database grows).

We can probably make do with just the .pg backups -- the .sql.gz ones 
are only really for if you need to restore a site onto a different 
version of Postgres (or one running on a different architecture).

And/or we can add more space to /tmp if necessary -- the LVM VG still 
has just under 20GB of free space.
