I think we should publish this story. We seldom have opportunities to
put up features that originate from Japan. I have rewritten it slighlty
and added formatting. I will be offline for a few days. Can someone
else publish please?

Title: Chess Grandmaster held in Japanese Jail under U.S. Orders

TOKYO, Japan - The world chess grandmaster, Bobby Fischer, who recently
turned out to be a hardcore critic against U.S. war crimes, is being
held under custody by the Japanese authorities after being accused of
having an alleged revoked U.S. passport while he was about to leave
Tokyo for Manila in Narita airport. Fischer was arrested in July 2004
and is now being held at the Ibaraki prefecture jail.
<p>
Fischer’s fiancée, Miyoko Watai, said in a statement that Japanese
police had illegally detained him at the Narita airport jailhouse while
his passport was confiscated and destroyed. "Furthermore in collusion
with the U.S. government the Japanese immigration authorities have
confiscated and destroyed Bobby Fischer's U.S. passport"[<a
