A Press Release is being written as we speak and should be posted in a few
hours. I'd like to wait until that is posted before posting the feature.
CURRENT FEATURE ON SANTA CRUZ IMC
Free Radio Santa Cruz RAIDED by the FCC and US Marshals
http://santacruz.indymedia.org/feature/display/11595/index.php
- what is the FCC? Somebody said radio police, but what does that mean?
Censorship on the content? Tracking down illegal use of radio frenquencies?
The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is charged with regulating the
airwaves in the public interest. They are the Communications Police. Yes,
they track down illegal use of radio frenquencies.
- What kind of radio is Radio Free Santa Cruz? commercial or
independent? legal or pirate radio? was the radio broadcasting at that time?
Free Radio Santa Cruz has been on the air for almost ten years without a
license. We broadcast 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, in
defiance of federal regulations. PIRATE AND PROUD.
