Hallo to all. It's a pity also for me to see how in the last year the
global features list was going. I still think that Indymedia can be a
very strong tool, even if we are taking a lot of time now with Facebook
or Twitter.
Indymedia had a different structure. Indymedia was a direct connection
with information more and before Twitter.
I think we need to think a little bit about that, before change something.
One of the differences I can see is that Twitter is immediate posting
(as Indymedia), but no reply at all. Instead in Indymedia you can put
more information or comments and give voice to a political confrontation
and alsothe groups can use it to organize actions before using they blogs.
Since Indymedia global is not local, can be dedicated to international
issue (as Occupy) bearing in mind the opportunity to offer an
environment where people can discover what's going on all over the world
and how to keep contatcs whith the others.
In this way global become global action.
The problem is that I wonder how many people still have time to do that.
I know that you can find the time to do something if you are considering
that it can be worthwhile.
I suggest to pay more attention to the local newswires, and write global
feature where there is something that can be turned at a global level.
Showing more links and contacts, and change Indymedia from a media to a
useful tool for everybody.
A change in the graphics can also be good, but only if it is related to
a different perpective and content (McLuhan.....)
